QR Business Card — privacy policy

QR Business Card is an app, developed by Obe, that turns the contact details you enter into a QR code others can scan to save your details. This policy explains what it does with your data.

In short: everything stays on your device. Your card details are stored locally, the QR code is generated on your device, and the app contains no networking code and no server — it does not send your data anywhere.

Information we collect

The developer collects nothing. All information stays on your device. The app itself works with:

Your business-card details

The contact information you type in (such as name, phone, email, and similar fields) so it can be shown and encoded into your QR code.

An optional photo

If you choose to add a picture to your card, the image you select is stored on your device with the card.

There are no accounts and no sign-in.

Permissions we use

Camera / photo library

Requested only if you choose to add a photo to your card, and used solely to let you take or pick that image. If you never add a photo, it is never used.

The app requests no internet, location, or device-contacts permissions — it does not read the contacts already on your phone; you enter your own card details yourself.

How your data is handled

Stored locally

Your card details and any photo are kept in an on-device database. They are not uploaded or synced to any cloud.

QR generated on-device

The QR code is created on your device from the details you entered. Generating it involves no network request.

Sharing is a local, visual act

Your details are shared only when you show your QR code to someone and they scan it with their own device. The app itself transmits nothing over any network.

Security

Because the app has no networking code and requests no internet permission, your card details cannot be sent off the device or intercepted in transit. All data stays within the app's on-device storage.

Data retention and deletion

We retain nothing — there is no server and no account. Your card data stays on your device until you delete it in the app, and uninstalling the app removes all of its local data.

Third-party services

None. The app uses no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or cloud services.
